The China Criminal Police University (CCPU) is located in the historic city of Shenyang and has a campus of 340,000 square meters, with a building area of 210,000 square meters. The university is a higher police university directly under Ministry of Public Security of China.　　 　　The university was founded in May, 1948. It was formerly the Northeast Public Security Cadres,

and later transformed into the Central People’s Police Cadres School of Public Security Ministry, the People’s Police Cadres School of Public Security Ministry.
